Craft beer importers Beervana seem to be everywhere at the moment. In December you’ll find them at pop-up food market Big Bite Bangkok (Maduzi Hotel, December 9) as well as ‘Santa on a Surfboard’– a weekend-long Christmas Luau party over at wave-riding facility Flow House (A-Square, Sukhumvit Soi 26 | www.flowhousebangkok.com). Joining them for a ticket-only dinner on Friday and Saturday night, Dec 14-15, will be Tim Butler of Eat Me restaurant fame, who will rustle up a traditional, five course Hawaiian feast (think organic pig slow roasted all day long on a spit). According to the Beervana boys, you can expect several never-seen-in-Thailand-before beers to be paired with it, including Anderson Valley’s Solstice Cream Ale and Rogue’s Mocha Porter. Oh, and for all of them to be free flow. Available through Beervana directly ([email protected] or 02-108-0387) or from the bar at Flow House, tickets for the luau feast are B2,700 and include a free session on its wave rider contraption (so bring your board shorts and bikinis as well as the obligatory grass skirt). Wincing at that price tag? Fear not, baht-scrimpers: discounted Rogue and Anderson Valley beers and Hawaiian-inspired bites will also be served to anyone who shows up during the day on Saturday and Sunday.
