The Rembrandt Hotel Bangkok will host the Thai chapter of the Confrerie du Sabre d’Or with a Sabrage and Gala Dinner at Da Vinci restaurant on Tuesday, 21 June 2016.
The Confrerie du Sabre d’Or promotes a lifestyle that appreciates both wine and fine dining, with the main attraction being the art of opening chilled bottles of Champagne with a sharpened sabre (sword). Its origins go back more than 200 years, and are attributed to a young French cavalry officer who would slice off the cork of a champagne bottle with a sabre, rather than easing it out by hand.
The evening will begin at 7pm with cocktails in the Rembrandt hotel lobby, highlighted by the traditional Sabrage ceremony conducted by Jean-Claude Jalloux, the Grand Master of la Confrérie du Sabre d’ Or.
This will be followed a six-course dinner, as well as select champagne and wines, at Da Vinci restaurant (located on the hotel’s 4th floor).
The dinner, including all champagne and wine, is B3,950 per person for members, and B4,450 for non-members. Guests are asked to match the special event with a formal black tie dress code.
