World-famous Chef Hari Nayak travels from New York to Indus for two special pop-up dinners on December 8 and 9.
Chef Nayak is a pioneer in modern Indian cooking, having trained under Alain Ducasse and authored multiple award-winning cookbooks. His culinary style traces the Subcontinental coast, from Konkan to Chettinad to the Malabar. Yet, as the chef sees it, “There are a lot of similarities in ingredients and flavours with regional coastal cooking from the Indian peninsula and Thai cooking.”
Chef Nayak’s nine-course dinners incorporate some of his signature plates, including Sol Khadi Pop, Neer Dosa Scampi Gassi, Idiyappam Masamam Biriyani, Uni Moilee, and Coorgi Short Rib Appam.
As a bonus, the chef will be signing copies of his latest cookbook, “My Indian Kitchen.” So guests who fall in love with his flavours can try to recreate them at home, a feat which he promises any novice cook can do.
The events get under way at 7pm at Indus ach night. Seats are limited to 50 per evening.
Dinners are priced at B2400++ for food alone or B3000++ with wine from Global Vineyards.
