Chef Jutamas “Som” Theantae of Karmakamet Conveyance and Chef David Yip, Chinese cuisine expert will celebrate the season of love with special menu “For the Love of Asia” on 14th and 15th February at Karmakamet Conveyance.
“For the Love of Asia” is a ten-course tasting menu. David Yip will showcase his love and talent for traditional Chinese cuisine while also create dishes with influences from other Asian countries, including Indonesia (where he was born).
Diners will be treated to Chef David Yip’s Beef Rendang with fried rice cracker dish, Tempoyak Prawn and Chu Chee Curry, a Malaysian and Thai amalgamation, and Mee Siam, a Peranakan-rooted fried noodle dish, along with Kaya Tart a favourite Cantonese/Portuguese egg treat.
Chef Jutamas “Som” Theantae will offer diners dishes from her latest menu, adapted further for this special occasion. These include “STREET”, Chef Som’s version of Hoi Tort (Oyster Omelette) and Pad Thai; “LIFE,” a Thai-Chinese inspired dish of Beef tongue and shrimp cake and ending with “FAREWELL,” an Indian-inspired dessert of milk, cardamom, edible silver leaf.
There will be two completely new and original gastronomical dishes in which the chefs will collaborate. This will be a surprise treat for guests in the evening!
Both Chefs have extensive experience travelling across Asia. The menu will best reflect their passion and love for Asian cuisine across the continent.
“For the Love of Asia” special ten-course menu is priced at B3,500++ per person with an additional B3,500++ for champagne pairing. The first sitting starts from 6pm-8:30pm; second sitting from 9pm-11pm.
