Surojana Sethabutra is one of the most senior Thai artists attempting to transcend the outmoded perceptions of ceramics as embellished collectibles. Tied to its heritage, ceramic art here has long been preoccupied with traditional concerns over form, colour, and functionality, with little expressive or conceptual experimentation. In what appears as a revisiting of the 1993 exhibition Tea of Equilibrium, Surojana reinterprets teapot forms with personal themes.
