From September 14-17, Enoteca Italiana, in collaboration with the San Pellegrino Fine Dining Lovers series, is hosting four gourmet evenings with one of the best young chefs in Italy, Chef Alessandro Boglione, whose restaurant il Castello in Italy has been awarded one Michelin star each year from 2010 to 2016. Chef Boglione will present two different five-course dégustation menus—one meat and one fish—both priced at B3,500++. For an additional B1,500++ the dinners also include a specially curated wine pairing from Gfour International fine wines. The dinners commence at 6pm and continue till 10pm. Be sure to reserve your space early as these events are almost guaranteed to sell out.
There will also be a master class led by Chef Boglione—exclusively for media and VIP guests only—on Wednesday September 14 from 6pm onwards.
About the Chef
Alessandro Boglione is a classically trained chef who defines his cuisine as contemporary Mediterranean—a cuisine based on a simple cooking process. He doesn’t use butter, only top-quality extra virgin olive oil, which he claims enhances the intrinsic flavors of his dishes.
“I like to respect the natural flavors of ingredients. To do so, I use the best products I can find in the market and then gently combine them. This is the essence of my cooking philosophy,” he explains.
Chef Boglione was born in 1972 in Bra, Piemonte, where his father owns one of the best pastries shops in the city. His love of cooking and baking started there. After he received his diploma in 1995 from hotel Administration and culinary Art in Mondovi (Cuneo), Piemonte, he sought out places that represented the “alta cucina” of Italy and Europe, including Vissani , Miramonti L’Altro, Antica Osteria del Ponte, El Bulli, and a score of others. His training also included two stints at his family’s party shop, during which the shop was awarded the Italian best bar from the “Gambero Rosso” guide.
In 2009 he opened his own restaurant il Castello inside a historic building, the “Castello di Grinzane di Cavour”, where he was awarded with a Michelin star in 2010. Since 2015 he has been an international consultant for Lavazza.
