Superstition, animism and the consumptive worth of protective talismans is a topic already established in artist Jakkai Siributr’s recent creations. Now Prateep Suthathongthai plunders similar themes in his series of reworked amulet imagery that ponder interpretative value, and speculative demand. While the artist’s critical intent appears aimed at Thai society, such themes are also pertinent to the art market.
