The annual Phimai Festival and Boat Race in Nakhon Ratchasima is a wonderful event. It attracts a lot of tourists to join every year. The well-preserved Khmer ruins of northeast Thailand’s Prasat Hin Phimai Historical Park pre-date Cambodia’s world-famous Angkor Wat and may, some scholars believe, actually have served as a model for its construction. The highlight of the event is the traditional long-boat races which compete in a race that has been taking place here for many years and sound presentation at Phimai Historical Park.
