Tropic City’s New Cocktail Menu: Volume 2

written by David J Constable October 11, 2018

Tropic City is one of Thailand’s very first tropical cocktail bars and a new edition to Bangkok’s rapid and ever-flourishing cocktail bar scene. The brainchild of the creative bartending duo Philip Stefanescu and Sebastian De la Cruz, Tropic City is a high-quality neighborhood cocktail bar that features a mix and match of tropical influences from countries particularly close to the equator with an innate love of rum with an even larger rum collection.

Together with its dynamic team with both established talents and rising stars behind the bar, Tropic City’s head bartender Arron Grendon recently won the Global Chivas Masters 2018 in London earlier in June becoming the very first contender from Thailand to every win a global competition. As well as having already hosted guest shifts and bar takeovers at Tropic City by the likes of legendary bartender and pioneer Michael Callahan, Samuel Kwok and Shelley Tai from World’s 50 Best Bar Quinary, Owen Gibler of Employees Only Hong Kong, Divyesh Chauhan of Junglebrid Kuala Lumpur, 2017 Bacardi Legacy Global winner Ran Van Ongevalle, and many, many more.

With a colorful approach, bright and tropical color scheme, floral morals, and prints, their second edition cocktail menu highlights and showcases new flavours and techniques, where they further explore and expand on the concept of what they define as tropical. Playing around with complex flavours and unusual combinations, all while staying true to the Tropic City philosophy of “keeping it simple but delicious”.
