Up & Above Bar: Sweet & Savoury Sakura Treats
The Okura Prestige Bangkok’s Executive Chef Sebastiaan Hoogewerf and his team once again take inspiration from Spring and the arrival of Japan’s Sakura cherry tree blossoms—an explosion of colour and scent—to create a special Sakura Afternoon Tea set for two at Up & Above Bar.
Savoury delights include Parma ham, crab meat and brie cheese; marinated crab meat in mini soft rolls; brie cheese with asparagus, sun-dried tomatoes and brown bread; and duck rillettes with raspberry jam in mini soft rolls.
Sweet confections guaranteed to please include Hokkaido milk strawberry roulade; Sakura chocolate praline; cherry blossom macaron; strawberry & Hokkaido milk custard; Sakura cold cheesecake; petit gateaux Sakura; strawberry dango, sakura scones and Hokkaido Milk ice cream. All go exceptionally well with specially crafted Sakura Mariage Frères tea, fresh-brewed coffee or a glass of something chilled and sparkling.
Sakura Afternoon Tea will be available daily from April 1 to June 30 from 2pm to 5pm at Up & Above Bar. It is priced from 1,600++ baht and includes a shot of sakura surprise and coffee or tea for two persons.
